Earlswood Christmas Market

Where has the year gone? It seems like only yesterday that I was opening presents and sitting down for the Christmas turkey.

We are now only 8 weeks away from Christmas, okay I’ll admit it I had a mild panic attack when I wrote that. It still feels too early but now is probably the time to start looking for those gifts before the hoards of Christmas shoppers take to the streets.

So if you’re looking to have some festive fun in the build up to Christmas then we have what you want. From November 23^rd until December 16^th every Friday, Saturday and Sunday our Christmas Market will be open for you to peruse, purchase and relax in.

With over 30 stalls you will have a great selection of toys and gifts, clothing and accessories, pet care and bird & bug habitats, wreathes and decorations and food and drink to give you some great ideas for presents this year.

What a Summer, so what’s next?

Well that was fun wasn’t it? The Queens Jubilee, Euro 2012 and a highly successful Olympics all in the space of 10 weeks. From everyone here at Earlswood Garden & Landscape Centre we hope you had a fantastic time whether you were there live or watching it on TV whilst having a BBQ (if you bought your BBQ and/or garden furniture from us, thank you, if you didn’t, we won’t hold it against you)

Now all the fun and games are over what’s next? Well we will be hosting our very first Christmas Market this year but its still August so I’ll leave the talk of Christmas there and move on.

Paving your way to a cleaner garden

If you’re anything like me, you will have recently looked at your garden and thought that it could do with a good clean to remove all the mould, algae, moss & grime that’s built up over the past few months but have then put it off because it seems like a lot of hard work and you haven’t really got the time to do it.

With summer finally upon us many of you will be out in the garden cutting the grass, weeding and planting new flowers. Once it’s all done you’ll be able to break out the BBQ and garden furniture, have some friends round, relax and enjoy all your hard work.

Westland Water Saving Gel

I posted a blog a few weeks ago about Water Butts and how they can help to keep your plants watered during a hosepipe ban, which you can view here.

Another great product we have is Westland’s Water Saving Gel, which can hold up to 400 times it’s own weight in water and can treat up to seventy-two 15-25cm pots. The granules slowly release water over time and can store up to 1 litre of water per pot. You simply mix a small amount of the granules in the compost, then water twice to charge the granules and then water as required afterwards.

As the granules retain and release water when needed you don’t need to worry about your prized flowers, fruits and vegetables suffering during hot summer days.
