How many square metres do I need?
To calculate how much paving you need, simply measure the length and width of the area you’d like to cover, then multiply the two figures together.
We recommend allowing an extra 5% for cuts and breakages.
Example:
If your area measures 5m x 4m, the total area is:
5×4=20m25×4=20m2
Add 5%:
20×1.05=21m220×1.05=21m2
So, you would need 21 square metres in total.
Anti-slip finish
All paving products supplied by Earlswood are suitable for external use and offer an anti-slip finish, making them a practical choice for everyday outdoor living.
Laying natural stone paving
Natural stone paving should be laid on a properly prepared base to ensure a stable, long-lasting finish.
You will typically need:
- A compacted MOT base for strength and stability
- A full mortar bed made from concreting sand and cement
- A slurry primer to help create a secure bond between the slab and mortar
- A jointing compound to fill the joints and complete the finish
