Acer palmatum is the common form of Japanese Maple from which all the other varieties are derived from. It grows a little bit quicker than other varieties, into a stunning small to medium-sized deciduous tree. It produces the most beautifully delicate, bright green palmate foliage that almost reflects the sunlight, and has a very natural structural form. In autumn, the leaves will turn various shades of yellow and orange, putting on a show-stopping display of colour. Ultimate height approximately 6-8m with a spread of 4-6m. It is best planted in a semi-shaded sheltered site that is protected from harsh winds, as leaves can become scorched with too much sun and/or wind exposure.
