Abelia

What are Abelia?

Abelias are a genus of flowering plants in the honeysuckle family, Caprifoliaceae. They are native to Asia and Mexico and are commonly grown as ornamental shrubs in gardens and landscapes. Abelias have small, fragrant, trumpet-shaped flowers that bloom in summer and autumn, and glossy, green leaves that turn bronze or purplish in the autumn. They are known for their tolerance of heat, drought, and poor soil, and are often used for hedging, screening, or as specimen plants.
