What are Acers?

Acer is a genus of trees and shrubs commonly known as maples. They are known for their distinctive lobed leaves and colourful foliage in the autumn. There are approximately 128 species of maples, which are found in Asia, Europe, North America, and North Africa. Some species of maples are also cultivated for their sap, which is used to make maple syrup.

9. Coral Bark Maple (Acer palmatum 'Sango-kaku') - a small tree with bright red bark that stands out in the winter months.
10. Box Elder (Acer negundo) - a fast-growing tree with compound leaves that turn yellow in the autumn.
