What are Nandina?

Nandina is a genus of evergreen or semi-evergreen shrubs known for their attractive foliage, berries, and flowers. They are commonly grown as ornamental plants in gardens and landscapes.

1. Nandina domestica: Also known as heavenly bamboo, this is the most commonly grown species. It has green leaves that turn red in autumn, and produces clusters of white flowers followed by red berries.
2. Nandina domestica 'Firepower': A dwarf cultivar of heavenly bamboo with bright red foliage that stays colourful all year.
3. Nandina domestica 'Gulf Stream': A compact cultivar with blue-green foliage that turns red in autumn, and produces white flowers followed by red berries.
4. Nandina domestica 'Obsessed': A new cultivar with bright red foliage that stays colourful all year, and produces white flowers followed by red berries.
5. Nandina domestica 'Plum Passion': A new cultivar with deep purple foliage that stays colourful all year, and produces white flowers followed by red berries.
6. Nandina domestica 'Richmond': A tall cultivar with green foliage that turns red in autumn, and produces white flowers followed by red berries.
